Crushed Tomato

Crushed Tomato by Brian McClear

I picked some tomatoes from the garden, and unlike the perfect store-bought ones, these were big, oddly shaped, and unevenly colored—exactly how they should be (and they taste better too!). One tomato, in particular, looked like it was being squeezed right on the vine. It was too good not to paint, so I started this piece as soon as I got back inside.
